On On Being

This Washingtonpost.com video project On Being is fascinating to me. I really like watching them -- and I like reading the comments. Once you watch a couple, trust me, you will be hooked and checking back every Wednesday for the next one.

Did you watch Gio's video? I was going through them and I picked to watch his because he just looked so cute. I didn't read the part on the main page about the point of the videos is just to get to know someone better until after I watched the video.... so during the video I was confused as to why the video was made in the first place. Anyways, I agree they are addicting and I couldn't help, but love Gio's video because for being nine he was so serious. He actually talked about dying in his sleep and how it would be okay because he would go to either heaven or hell. The part that stuck out to me the most was, "I think they just don't know what to even think about me." It was sad for a little boy to be so upset and worried about that fact that people don't even think about him.

I was struck by the same things in Gio's video. Those serious parts were offset nicely by the burp and the rock 'n' roll bomb. I also liked the videos of the gay Mormon and the sporty nun. I am hooked on this feature and go back every Wednesday to check out the latest. It is also VERY interested to read the comments after you have watched a particular video.
